L'Awning 270° XL Freestanding LED Darche Eclipse with access Rooftop Tent, in version left side, retains all the qualities of the famous Eclipse 270 Freestanding while adding an integrated zip opening allowing direct access to your Rooftop Tent without leaving the covered area. Designed for configurations 4x4, Camping and overlandingit offers 11.5 m² of protection, integrated white and amber LED lighting, a reinforced X-Tube aluminium structure and a 320 g/m² Ripstop Polycotton fabric.
Developed over two years and tested in real-world wind conditions, this Awning is designed for travelers looking for a robust, quick and particularly convenient installation with a Rooftop Tent RTT.
A Awning 270° designed specifically for rooftop tents
THE Darche Eclipse 270 Freestanding + RTT Entry LHS combines extensive 270-degree coverage with a dedicated access opening Rooftop Tent.
L'Awning wraps the side and rear of the vehicle to create up to 11.5 m² of protected area, while allowing direct access to the scale of the Rooftop Tent thanks to its integrated zipped hatch.
This design allows you to move from the outdoor living space to the tent without having to go out in the rain or leave the protected area.
With the kit of Walls Gen 2 compatible, available separately, the protected area can reach up to 20.5 m².

Direct zipped access to the Rooftop Tent
The main feature of this version is its integrated RTT (reduced working time) pass directly into the fabric of theAwning.
This zippered opening is designed to align with the access area and the scale of a Rooftop Tent compatible.
It therefore allows you to:
- Go directly to the tent from the covered area
- Limit exposure to rain when accessing the tent
- Create a true continuity between the living space and the sleeping area
- Optimize overlanding installations equipped with Rooftop Tent

Wind-tested freestanding structure
L'Eclipse The 270 Freestanding + RTT Entry benefits from the same development and design as theEclipse 270 Standard Freestanding LEDs.
Darche achieved approximately 30 days of testing in real-world conditions in order to assess the structure's behavior in the face of wind.
The manufacturer advertises freestanding use up to 30 km/h.
During various tests carried out by Darche, L'Awning also withstood higher speeds, reaching up to 55 km/h in certain test configurations.
With feet spread wide andAwning properly guyed Darche indicates that the product was tested during gusts of wind that could reach 90 km/h, before the sardines become detached from the soft ground.

Breaking points designed to limit damage
The structure includes breaking points studied so that in the event of extreme overload, certain components can fail in a controlled manner.
The goal is to reduce the risk of more serious damage to the vehicle, the roof rack, or the Rooftop Tent.
The various parts have also been designed so that they can be replaced individually, making repairs easier and limiting their cost.

The arms use a profile made of extruded aluminum alloy X-Tubedesigned to offer greater rigidity and excellent mechanical strength.
The back plate, hinges and various connection points were studied using advanced simulation techniques to optimize their resistance, particularly at the ends of the arms where wind-related stresses are significant.

Important if installing with a Rooftop Tent
Although theAwning is designed to operate in mode Freestanding until 30 km/h, Darche strongly recommends using the support feet and guy wires supplied as often as possible.
When it is attached to a Rooftop TentThe three support feet must be used continuously in order to reduce the stresses exerted on the Rooftop Tent and its supports.
Because weather conditions can change rapidly, the systematic use of feet and guy wires is also the best way to protect your installation in the long term.

A kit of Walls compatible allows you to transform theAwning in a more enclosed and protected space.
